Software and Computer Systems Company, LLC (SCSC) is a computer hardware and software engineering firm operating in Reston Virginia. Aside from developing products that SCSC licenses, SCSC also does consulting work.
Listed below are the products we currently offer. As of 2008, we’ve decided to focus all of our software development efforts on Apple® based products. We expect to be developing and releasing more products for use on numerous Apple products in the near future. Our primary products are Scannerz and FSE.
In addition to product development, SCSC also does IT consulting. SCSC consultants typically have a minimum of 15 years experience. Our consultants serve Reston Virginia and the surrounding area. Contact one of our consultants at consulting@scsc-online.com for more details.
Scannerz with FSE for Mac OS X
Scannerz with FSE for Mac OS X is a combo package of our hard drive scanning and analysis tool, Scannerz, combined with the full version of our file system events monitor, FSE. The full version of FSE is available by itself (see below). FSE and FSE-Lite are not required for Scannerz to operate. Scannerz, FSE, and FSE-Lite require administrative privileges to operate.
Current Product Line-up
Scannerz with FSE-Lite for Mac OS X
This package is the standard release of Scannerz, which includes FSE-Lite. FSE-Lite is not as full featured as FSE, but if your needs are strictly evaluating hard drive problems only, it will usually suffice. FSE-Lite is not available as a standalone product. Both Scannerz and FSE-Lite require administrative privileges to operate.
FSE for Mac OS X
This package is the standalone version of FSE for Mac OS X. FSE is a configurable file system events monitor that allows users to monitor file system events based on user defined criteria. FSE requires administrative privileges to operate.
SpotOff with Spot-O-Meter for Mac OS X
SpotOff with Spot-O-Meter for Mac OS X consists of both SpotOff and Spot-O-Meter. SpotOff allows a user to activate and deactivate Spotlight activity on demand. Spot-O-Meter is a Spotlight activity monitoring application. Spot-O-Meter is available for free as a standalone application. SpotOff requires administrative privileges to operate, whereas Spot-O-Meter does not. It is not necessary to use SpotOff and Spot-O-Meter with Scannerz - Scannerz suspends Spotlight.
Spot-O-Meter for Mac OS X
Spot-O-Meter for Mac OS X is a Spotlight activity monitor. If you suspect you may be having problems with your system that are related to intense Spotlight indexing, Spot-O-Meter will be able to tell you how intense Spotlight activity is with respect to total CPU use. This product is part of the SpotOff distribution, but may be downloaded as a stand alone app for free from the SpotOff information page. The free version Spot-O-Meter is not eligible for tech support.

Scannerz Lite for Mac OS X
This package is the lightweight release of Scannerz. Scannerz Lite is intended for use by individuals that want to be able to perform a simple test on their drive and subsystems components and have no need for any of the advanced capabilities in the fully featured version of Scannerz.
